Musings>Why Does Everybody Hate the Jews?

The Jews have been hated for 2,000 years and the state of Israel since its inception. Why is that? Pro forma: I'm not Jewish. But I've known a number of Jewish people throughout my life, including classmates, fraternity brothers and work colleagues and none of them were any different from the non-Jews around them.

And there are three standouts. One was my first best friend, named Lee Berkowitz and from age 3, we had a great time together. Later, when we were adults, I hunted him up and we had some more enjoyable times. Then there was a boss, whom I won't name, lest some crackpot decide to bump him off, but we, also, had an enjoyable, collegiate relationship. The third has been a constant throughout my adult life and again, I won't name him, because he is the most dangerous of all. He spends all his time trying to make the world a better place. What's more subversive than that? The Deep State probably has a special squad, named Smersh or Specter or something like that, to hunt down people whose noble activities might put them out of business.

Back to the history of hate. The first people to hate the Jews were the Romans, for good reason. The Jews just wouldn't stay conquered. Every time the Romans turned their backs, the Jews started another revolt. Finally the Romans kicked them out of Jerusalem. Then a couple hundred years A.D., some Christian theologian decided they should bear the blame for Jesus's crucifixion. Never mind that Jesus was Jewish, Peter was Jewish, the apostle Paul was Jewish, all the disciples were Jewish and most Christians for a long time were Jewish.

That's when things started really going downhill. In many countries, Jews couldn't own property. They were forced to become businessmen, traders and eventually bankers. There were plenty of non-Jewish bankers, but the Jews got the rap for usury.

The other crime they committed was refusing to vanish from history. They kept their religion, their customs and their ethnic identity through 2,000 years, even when everybody hated the Jews. That part is remarkable. How many Assyrians or Hittites have you met?

There were intervals where Jews were honored and respected and found places in government, but sooner or later, they were told to get out. Pogroms in Russia were common, and everybody knows what Hitler tried to do. His legacy lives on today as legions pretend to take the part of Palestinians while venting their real feelings.

Let's face it. What happened on Oct. 7 hasn't been seen for about 3,000 years, excepting the Holocaust. Back in the good old days, barbarism was accepted. Homer proudly boasted that the Achaians were sackers of cities, and that they looted a city, killed all the males, including children, and took the women and worked them to death. Corinth was a factory town, where slaves made stuff and died. Other slaves were worked to death in mines. Hamas would have been right at home.

But Hamas' true spiritual ancestors were the Nazis of World War II, who killed as many Jews as they could get their hands on. How the world turns! A few short months ago, people in the U.S. were calling their political enemies Nazis, and now those same people are supporting real Nazis fighting in the Ukrainian forces, and they've also rallied to true Nazis, called Hamas. And why? Because like the Nazis, Hamas hates Jews. They also hate women and homosexuals, as do most Arab countries. Really classy company you're keeping, Jew haters!
