    Warm water is going cold.

Upgrade from 40 to 50 gal. electric tank

checked water in bottom of tank for dip plastic and have not found any. cold water comming out of bottom. set at 140 degrees on both elements (top and bottom). have warm water (not hot) coming out of faucet for 4 min. max them goes cold. Let it stand over night to heat up without use.

What can I check? Is something wrong with the new hot water tank? How can I tell if this is supose to be a 220 instead of 110 electric?

Hello: The nametag on the heater will give you wattage and voltage for your heater. I don’t know of any 50 gallon tanks that run on 110 volts. If you had sufficient (or almost) hot water before replacing the heater than plumbing defects are probably ruled out. Do check this… when running water, make sure cold is really coming in the cold line, not the hot. Otherwise, giving a 220 volt tank 110 volts will surely cause this lack of hot water!

    Yours, Larry
