    help, i went to the basement and theres water on the floor, pipes look like someone just took a shower in there, could my water heater have busted and sprayed all over? its pretty bad? any help?

    But could you see water actually spraying from somewhere? In cases like this, it’s important to figure out just where the water is coming from. Maybe it is the water heater. But maybe a connection is leaking. Maybe a temperature/relief valve opened and splashed everything, especially if there is no pipe leading to the floor.

    If you find water coming from the water heater itself, it will probably have to be replaced. But often you can delay ultimate failure for a space by turning off the water pressure when you’re not using hot water.
