I am removing the manifold to my whirlpool gas hot water heater and there are two wires going from the back of my control into the switch in the front. I need to disconnect one end to get the manifold out, but cannot do it. I can’t access the back of the control or figure out how to disconnect them from the front of the manifold. I attached a picture. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, If the two wires are those going to the limit switch, they seem to have spade connections which just pull off. Might need a little wiggling 😎
Ps. Why do you need to take things apart?

Thank you Larry! I was trying to pull off the spade connection before but I wasn’t 100% sure and wasn’t pulling it hard enough. I’m trying to replace the thermocouple b/c my pilot won’t stay lit.
