What would cause a brand new gas water heater to leak water (dripping) onto the burner? Would it be a leak in the flue tube. How would that happen with a brand new water heater?

Seen your other post so I assume you bought a new water heater and just installed it……….

If you just filled it with cold water, then yes, it will drip a little from condensation. Should stop dripping after the tank has warmed up. BTQT.

Yes undee70ss is correct. Condensation is even more pronounce during the winter months when the incoming water is colder. 15 minutes and it should be going away. If not then there is another problem we can talk about.
