I just posted for the first time on Saturday and am about ready to buy the kit on this site (anode, tube and ball valve), but I am a little concerned about how to replace my drain valve with the ball valve.

Does the old valve (old faucet valve) just unscrew and the ball valve screw in?

FWIW, I have a 10-year 50-gallon water heater made by State Industries. Thanks.

Time to discover the rest of waterheaterrescue.com! Go to the home page and from the site map link at the bottom, go to Know-how. That will walk you through changing drain valves. And it’s not a big deal.
