Hi, I am about to buy a new gas water heater for my house. In looking at an A.O. Scott unit and one by Rheem, I see that Rheem advertises a glass-lined tank, while A.O. Scott’s is listed as ceramic. I am going to be buying one of hte lowest cost options. Can someone tell if there is a difference in the performance/durability between glass and ceramic, and does it matter at this price point?

    Thanks!

P.S. I see on the A.O. Scott website that all their tanks are glass, but it appears that the heaters sold at Lowes are ceramic lined.

No difference whatsoever. Two names for the same thing.
