Could you elaborate a little? What do you mean you threw out the dip tube? Ordinarily, there’d be no reason to even see the dip tube.

Yes. So why would you throw it out? If you did, why couldn’t you put it back in? I asked for elaboration. I’d like to know how you installed the tank and why you messed with the dip tube — if you did. Right now, I don’t have much to go on.

yes i threw out what i believe was dip tube, plastic tube about 4-5 ft. long heater does not work that good .i have thermo all the way up and not enough presure ,not same as the rheem i took outOctober 22, 2008 at 4:10 am #9637undee70ssParticipant
Heater will never work good without a dip tube. You will have to get one from GE or you can buy one from this site.October 22, 2008 at 12:03 pm #9639
This is true. Any chance you kept the dip tube? It would slide right back in. Otherwise, you need another one or you’ll never have better than lukewarm water.

measurment from top of tank to center of drain valve is 49 inches
