    Hi Everyone.

I just had a brand new 60 gallon GE gas water heater installed yesterday and while the pilot stays lit, the flame keeps going out unless the temp control is at its very hottest setting. As soon as I turn the knob to bring the temperature to a more standard setting, the flame goes out. The pilot remains on. While the old one was old and rusty, I never had a problem with it staying lit. Any advice?

    Thanks so much, Christine

Check your water temp at the spigot. It should be around 120, plus of minus 10 degrees, at the B setting. If this is true then check for a cross connection in your home. If it is not call for warrenty service.

Hmmm: I smell a learning opportunity 😎 Ej, I don’t understand the connection between delivered water temperature and the pilot going out.
