I’m having trouble with my steel expansion thank rusting Thur every 6 months. I have a 2″ plastic line coming in for my service meter. I have grounded my water meter on the inlet and outlet side of it. 6 months ago i put a dielectric union between my copper and expansion thank, that didn’t help. I checked my sacrificial anode and it was 1/4 gone, it’s only 22 months old. I’m on my 4th tank. It’s a new car wash, the electric is grounded.

Hello: Are all grounds run to the main panel and is a grounding rod driven close by the panel and hooked up? Is there only one grounding rod? Can you get us some info on the expansion tank–make–model–size? Does the tank fail in the same way each time? A photo of the hookup would be nice. Have you tested for stray currents? Do you have a water quality report and is anything out of line?

Lots of questions…. I’m sure we’ll come up with more 😎

    Yours, Larry
