I have an A.O. Smith Pro Max electric water heater that is inline with a water softener. I want to to put a powered anode in it to get rid of stinky hot water. This water heater has a primary anode, and a secondary anode. My question is which anode do I replace, and do I just cap off the other one.

    Thanks guys,

    Mike

Get SKU15, or SKU27, the latter especially if the heater is still under warranty, and replace the combo anode in the hot port with a plastic-lined steel nipple.
