This 20yrs electric AOS works fine, no leakage. Concerned with the bubble on the side and some dry rusty drip signs from under the top cover

Looking at the attached pix can anybody suggest:

    a) replace anode( can you tell the anode type used for this model?)

b)do nothing and wait till it dies

    c)replace right away.

BTW How bad it usially leaks – dumps hunder of gl at oncce or slowly leaks?

Hello: Those drips down the side and rusty bubble do indicate water; either from water leaking down from overhead or a slow leak. I’d like to tell you it’s all OK, but really I think you should read up on how to buy, set-up and install a new heater. There is good info on this site about it.

    Yours, Larry

ps. As a double check, turn off power and remove the hatch covers. Look for signs of water. If things have always been dry, you might be able to get some more life with an anode, but don’t get hopes up too much.

I wouldn’t expect a flood unless an element blows out. That can get exciting 😯
