My vote is for A.O. Smith. They have managed to keep the Unitrol valve, the standard thermocouple and pilot and that’s it. No thermo switches to go bad. There is a flame arrestor screen on the bottom but that doesn’t break. Just clean it from time to time. Don’t get the one with the solid state controller they have on some of their energy saving models. It’s unproven and seems to be many problems.
