You’re right: I was talking about plumbing connecting the powered anode to the heater. The history: The first three or four that I sold, I did sell with brass fittings. Then one horrible morning, I woke up and had a thought: the powered anode hex nut is galvanized steel. Could it protect itself?
I asked the factory. They said, “Sure.” But I tested it in my own heater and found it rusted. Then Larry and I messed around and found a way to fix that. But the factory still urges using galvanized fittings with it, so I do.
I contacted everybody I’d sold the first ones to and replaced them.
