I sell a powered anode, but I’m not suggesting that here. This is not what my device was made for, and there is simply no way to tell what it would do. I work closely with the manufacturer, and in times past, when stainless has come up, the thought has been that it would be necessary to design one for the application. Mine was made for glass-lined steel tanks and it works very well in that application.
The main thing here is that nobody, to date, has been able to find a clear solution to this problem. So going back to glass-lined steel, where the issues are better known and controllable, makes some sense.
