Sorry, I should have explained. The factory dip tube is about 10 inches shorter (16″ above the bottom of the tank), but more importantly I think – it is closed at the bottom and there are a series of holes punched in the side of the tube (near the bottom) such that all the water is discharged out the tube horizontally. The water is not directed towards the bottom of the tank at all!
The vacuum breaker hole was about the same size and in the same place as the factory dip tube.
