Truth is, I don’t know. I know that Rheem and its sub-brands use a thicker anode on the 12-year-warranty models, but I don’t know about the 9’s. Since it’s already installed, it’s probably not worthwhile to remove it and measure it. But since you soften, you ought to think about checking it every couple of years to make sure bare wire or worse doesn’t sneak up on you.
