Hello: Those multi-fuel heaters also came with a small cloth bag that held the “other” gas orifice. If you were burning propane, the bag held one for natural gas and visa versa. Noise from the tank only indicates sediment, not tank condition. I’d check the anode to see how the old tank is really doing 😉
