Thanks for the reply. Time of use is available, but they make the rate structure complicated enough that it’s hard to nail down the details. Interesting idea though… How do you control the operation of the WH? We have three-tier Time of use here, and it would be interesting to develop some kind of intelligent timer that would monitor the thermostats of the WH and only run the elements “just enough” in the event that demand exceeds supply during the peak hours.
For the benefit of posterity: the Reliant 606 models have aluminum anodes, 909 and 1212 have magnesium. (I called the Reliant Product Information Center at 1-800-365-4054, surprisingly enough they answered immediately and knew the answer to my question without having to look it up).
