Almost nobody sells curved dip tubes and I think I’m the only one who custom-bends them. Mine have an integral pipe nipple, so the old nipple and dip tube come out and the new one screws in. There are instructions with it that cover all this. As to the drain valve, yes, that’s replaced, but as long as the water pressure isn’t on, it can be done with very little water leaking out and pretty much no mess. If you find that hard to believe, consider what happens when you tip a two-liter bottle of water upside down. It doesn’t rush out at once; it glug-glugs. So to repeat: you don’t drain the tank at all to change the drain valve. And that’s a lot faster.
