There is another way to do this using two wrenches. If you go to Page 3 of the board and find the topic “New water heaters,” you’ll find the description. I include a diagram showing how to do this with anode orders. I haven’t yet put it up on the site because my diagram is so crude. Having Adobe Illustrator doesn’t make one a graphic designer!
I agree with Paul: don’t use an impact wrench to tighten the anode. There’s too much force and too little “feel.” You want to make sure the anode is started properly and isn’t cross-threaded. If that happens, it won’t be good.
