Humphrey Automatic antique water heater

This heater, dating from about 1920, shows the growing refinement of the product. It was designed to produce any amount of water, whenever you wanted, without having to mess with the heater.

It was clearly designed to be seen, embellished all over. Flames and butterflies can be seen wrought into the metalwork.

The heater provided easy access on both sides for cleaning the heating coils. There was equally easy access to the burners, which were designed to be easily removed. This was a heater designed to last. Examples have been found operating after 80 years.
