Lingo: Half and half plumbing
More Lingo:

Outgoing hot line exiting a water heater Water heater with incoming cold line low down on side of tank
This is not a standard plumbing term, but our way to describe a water heater that has the cold plumbing coming in low down on the side, as above right, with the hot plumbing exiting through the cover of the tank, above left, as opposed to top-plumbed or side-plumbed. For whatever reason, the installer capped the cold-port nipple on this tank.
