What's
included
|
- a .75-inch-diameter magnesium combination (also known as outlet)
anode rod
(about 48 inches of overhead clearance needed)
- pipe-thread seal tape
- service sticker
- instructions
This kind
of anode screws into the hot-water port and can either replace
another combo rod or augment a hex-head anode. Rheem/Ruud/Richmond/GE
changed its design in about 2005 so that the hot-water port extends
below the threads. To use a standard combo anode, one must drill
out the port and even then, there is a risk that there will not
be enough space between the hot-water outlet and the port wall
to permit water to pass. The anode included here solves that problem.
|
|
What
does it do?
|
- The anode will keep your tank from rusting and breaking.
- The tape will enable you to remove the anode in future to
check it.
- The sticker will help you remember when you installed it.
