A street ell, for installing a drain valve to go upward or sideways rather than straight out

A street ell is a 90-degree plumbing piece that can be screwed into a water heater drain valve port to make the valve point some way other than straight out.

It is used when a normal installation would trip someone passing by or keep a door from closing or something like that.
