A cold-water manifold from the House on Hummingbird Hill

With a manifold system, a main supply line feeds numerous branchings, each of which serve one faucet. This means that the individual lines can be smaller diameter, use less water and lose less heat than if larger-diameter copper piping were used.

The cold manifold from the House on Hummingbird Hill is shown here. Note that each PEX branching has it's own ball-valve shutoff.
